This 2400sf lakefront cabin for a family of four is situ-ated on the shore of Lake Wenatchee in the Cascade Mountains. Its form evokes a fundamental sense of shelter while safely shed-ding snow away from the building’s entrances.

The house comfortably accommodates groups as small as the owner’s family of four to two dozen friends and family members. The ground floor consists of an open living/dining/kitchen space and utility, mud and powder rooms. Broad steps stretch the width of the lake-facing facade to enhance the connection between living spaces and site.

An open riser wood stair wraps a massive stone fireplace and leads from the great room to a more casual family room up-stairs. This space is flank-ed by 2 adult bedrooms, 2 kids bunk-rooms, and bathrooms. Lofts and win-dow seats provide add-itional sleeping spaces. A detached carport with boat storage below sits at the top of the sloping site and forms an auto court with the main house.
